Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Gordon Bok's: Blue Mountain From: Sorcha Date: 04 Feb 02 - 04:22 PM Well, there is this one Click here in the DT, but I don't know if it's Boks. If not, any lyric snippets? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Gordon Bok's: Blue Mountain From: Midchuck Date: 04 Feb 02 - 04:30 PM Bok, Muir and Trickett did record that - although I thought Ed sang lead on it - so it might be the one he means. It's the only "Blue Mountain" I know of. It comes as close to having been recorded by everybody as any song I know. Peter. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Gordon Bok's: Blue Mountain From: Sandy Paton Date: 04 Feb 02 - 05:41 PM Go to Monticello, Utah, and folks will proudly point out to you the mountain "with the horse head on its side," although I had a hellova time trying to make it out. They tell me it's easier to see when there's snow on the mountainside. I did a program in the school there, many years ago, and was told by the proprietor of the restaurant where I grabbed a quick lunch that the song was written by a local judge, the F. W. Keller credited in the DT. Frank Hamilton used to sing the song and I'm pretty sure it's on his CD. Am I right, Frank? My copy is downstairs in the rack. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Gordon Bok's: Blue Mountain From: bflat Date: 04 Feb 02 - 11:15 PM Sorcha, Midchuck (Peter), and Sandy: Thanks so much. The one in the DT is what I was looking for but didn't realize it until I met the group in my song circle tonight. We played a tape from Sandy that had Bok and Trickett singing the song. Now we will try to learn it. It's a great song and I am thrilled as are my buddies. Ellen |
