someone please help!

I heard a song on the radio (90.1 fm) yesterday, and I really liked it.. but I didn't hear the name of the song, and the music store by me didn't have much in the way of irish folk music..

from what I heard, there was a line that willy was a tailor.. and he ended up being shot by sarah (or some woman) because of another woman (or was it Sarah!?) it was a nice slow song.. really liked it.. wanted to know where I can buy it.

any help would be appreciated (sorry I don't have more detail)

Look under Billy Taylor in the digitrad database. No Sarah, but the same basic story. If you search the entire forum for Willie Taylor you'll turn up a lot of related threads, one may have the specific information you're looking for.

I checked the lyrics that's not it.. the song explicitly said he was a tailor (I think)... that song's got the same plotline tho :)

I just remembered that Thistle and Shamrock, a radio program on National Public Radio in the US, played a version of Willie Taylor last week. A bunch of salty-sounding guys - does that sound like what you heard? If so, go to the NPR website and you should be able to find links to an address for a T&S Playlist. Good luck.

The only song I know with 'Tailors ' and 'Sarah' is 'I'll go and (en)list for a sailor'
