Subject: Manic Australian at Beverley From: danensis Date: 29 Nov 05 - 03:42 PM I've been trying to remember the name of the manic Australian woman who performed at Beverley FF a couple of years ago. I liked her music, but she struck me as the sort of person you wouldn't want to be left alone with for long. I seem to recall her telling us she was brought up on a remote cattle station in the Australian outback? |

Subject: RE: Manic Australian at Beverley From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 30 Nov 05 - 06:32 AM Merri-May's website and the bit of a description given by google - does she sound like your artist, John?? Merri-May Gill is like Suzanne Vega meets Lucille Ball; Joni Mitchell meets ... Merri-May Gill was born in outback NSW and was raised on a 50000-acre sheep ... |

Subject: RE: Manic Australian at Beverley From: danensis Date: 30 Nov 05 - 03:56 PM Yes it was Merri-May. Funny how you can recognise a name when you see it but can't remember it for love nor money (not that nayone tried either of those on me). Thanks for the link to the web site - she seems to be keeping well away at the moment :-( |
