Forgive the shameless plug (is there any other kind?), but I'm staging a concert as part of FEVA 2006 (Knaresborough Festival of Entertainment and Visual Arts) which might be of interest to some of you. It's billed as follows:

"An evening with Blind Jack and friends"

featuring CHRIS SIMPSON of MAGNA CARTA (a solo set of his Dales-themed songs)

An evening of Yorkshire folk lore, music, songs, dance and drama. Support includes special guest BELLA HARDY (BBC Young Folk Awards finalist) and NICK HALL. Also featuring the Knaresborough Mummers, Swan & Porter, Pateley 'PRATS' longsword team, Joe Nicholson and the Blind Jack Band

Tuesday 15th August, 7.30pm, Frazer Theatre, Knaresborough. Tickets £7.00 (concessions £5.00)* available from Knaresborough Tourist Information Centre (to book by credit card phone [phone]) www.feva.info

*This is a not-for-profit concert staged in support of the "Blind Jack" project, a Yorkshire folk song initiative in aid of Henshaws Society for Blind People.

One week to go, this is a quick update on the gig details.

A late addition to the bill is Nick Hall, a guitarist/singer from Otley who has supported Fairport Convention and Show of Hands. We may also be getting an appearance from Bella Hardy's bandmates from Ola, who were finalists in the BBC's Young Folk Awards not long ago.

Credit card ticket orders can be taken by Knaresborough Tourist Info on 01423 866886. They'll even post them to you free of charge. Tickets are also being sold by Rock Steady Music in Harrogate.
