Hi all,
In the book "Hungry Moon" by Ramsey Campbell begins his first chapter with several quotes. Amoungst them is;

"Go down Harry Moony, harry us no more,
We've flowers to please you, to leave at your door."
Old Derbyshire Street Song.

I've checked the DT but can not find any ref to this song.

Does anyone out there have any info? Dates, full lyrics, etc?

Thanks

Wrinkles

Interesting. Doesn't ring any bells. I will watch this space. There must be a "Folklore of Derbyshire" written by Jon Raven or Roy Palmer or somebody. This shouldn't be too big a problem for the might of Mudcat's collective intellect. I'd put money on malcolm Douglas being the first one home on this one.

I'm slightly suspicious of the first line "Harry us no more". Seems to be more in a line with the mind an antiquarian author, rather than a piece of folklore. My money is on Ramsey Campbell now, not Anon.
