Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: Max Date: 23 Oct 01 - 08:43 PM I was gonna come, Bill, but it was so damn NICE out! The previous two weekends I had been more or less scheduled, with little free time, and NO time to spend out in my garden, except for frantically bringing plants in when it was gonna frost on the 6th and 7th. Imagine me outdoors with a flashlight at midnight, bundled up against the cold, bringing great BIG houseplants indoors, with nowhere to put the last of them but my kitchen table. (Oh, and the VERY last I put in my car and brought to Max!) So when Sat. was so nice and warm, I couldn't resist the Call of the Garden! I had dead eggplant, tomato, and pepper plants to pull up, the patio to sweep, semi-frostbitten plants to rescue, etc. And it was glorious outside!!! Now you'll never catch me revelling in the opportunity to do housework, like I revel in the chance to do stuff in my garden! It's just different somehow! Then when I got tired, I also got sleepy, so I took a "little nap", so that I'd be "fresh" when I was gonna drive down! When I woke up 4 hours later, it was getting dark out, and I figured I'd probably get lost! So that's why I didn't come. Marymac |

Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: wysiwyg Date: 23 Oct 01 - 11:06 PM I just arrived-- whozzat woman singin' wiuth an autoharp? ~S~ |
Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: WyoWoman Date: 23 Oct 01 - 11:43 PM Yeay! I got here in time, for once. I'm listening to a man singing "I was right, I was wrong all along..." which in and of itself is sort of a miracle -- a man admitting he was wrong. (Just kiddink, guys. Stop sharpening those knives ... ) Who's singing? Big Mick, you're breaking my heart again. I mean, I know Fair One is your one and only, but ... what's life without hope? And what are you doing in Pennsylvania? ww |
Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: Jeri Date: 24 Oct 01 - 12:13 AM That was Dick Swain, ww. I don't think he's on Mudcat, or at least not much. Great voice, and a heck of a nice guy! |
Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: Charlie Baum Date: 24 Oct 01 - 12:47 AM It's good to hear Big Mick conclude the concert with The Parting Glass. A fitting conclusion. Max--this can't be the last episode of Mudcat Radio. We need to do the Third Annual Getaway concert next October. Maybe we can figure out some way of uploading it live from Camp Ramblewood... --Charlie Baum |

Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: GUEST,kendall Date: 24 Oct 01 - 11:14 AM Damn, the sound here was so bad I couldn't tell if it was Dick Swain or Mary Sullivan singing. The acoustics was a disaster, and, all the loud chatting made it impossible to hear. The folk chat wouldn't let me in, so, I went to bed. Yes Spaw, I'm back to normal! |
Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: MMario Date: 24 Oct 01 - 11:22 AM the sound is coming in well from the archive - and the chatting, etc seemed to die down after a while. |

Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: MMario Date: 24 Oct 01 - 03:57 PM be vewwy, vewwy patient - it took a long long time for it to come up for me. |

Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: Mrs.Duck Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:23 PM Got it now. |
Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: Noreen Date: 24 Oct 01 - 05:56 PM Got it loaded eventually- but very difficult to make out what's going on, I'm afraid. Who's playing the concertina and singing? I can just about make out what he's singing, but the picture and sound are breaking up badly. :0( And who was the big fella singing after Max? Need a running order really, as I can't make out any introductions! Noreen |
Subject: RE: RADIO - Episode 98 - Mudcat Concert II From: Noreen Date: 24 Oct 01 - 06:21 PM Lovely unaccompanied singing, Big Mick. Good on you! |
