Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Rockhen Date: 01 Jul 07 - 07:19 PM Yeah, you got a real arm-twisting to step in as 'MC', Ian. Good job, though and it was a good night. Allen should be proud of the cd, it sounded great, or rather, they both did. Hope there is a good turn out on Tuesday and hope we can all work on selling the cds. They are well worth buying for the music, AS WELL as the good causes they are helping. Great tracks. Looking forward to finally getting my hands on my own copies of the cd on Tuesday. Don't forget folks, all welcome at the Tap and Spile pub in Grimsby, UK this Tuesday! ...Don't forget to buy the cds, plus some for your friends! :-) |
Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Rockhen Date: 02 Jul 07 - 05:18 PM Apparently, Viking FM will be there so that will be another plus in promoting the CD. I think it would be great if a couple of local businesses in, Grimsby and possibly, Lincoln and Scunthorpe would take the CDs on, to offer them for sale, from them. Anyone know of somewhere likely to agree? It is useful if people know they can buy the cds from somewhere rather than having to order by post. |
Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Tim theTwangler Date: 02 Jul 07 - 07:53 PM Oh better be there early for a seat then. You know how places fill up if the press or media are on hand. |
Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Rockhen Date: 03 Jul 07 - 06:52 PM Nah, don't think many from the Tap are bothered about publicity apart from how it relates to selling the CD. Most people there just want to play music, I reckon. |
Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Tim theTwangler Date: 03 Jul 07 - 08:13 PM It was a great night and a stonking start to the cd sales! I didnt actually say that the people from the Tap would be publicity hungry for themselves. But you often get folks who turn up while the press are on hand and bugger orf soon as the cameras disappear seen it before. Was a great fun night. And the singaround went really well too. |
Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Doug Chadwick Date: 04 Jul 07 - 01:59 AM £480 made on the night, if I heard correctly. That figure is bound to go way up once people hear the quality of the music on offer. All profits go to two children's charities NCH Grimsby and Viking FM's For the Kids. DC |

Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Doug Chadwick Date: 16 Sep 07 - 12:21 PM It's called a loss leader Tim - a clever marketing ploy to get people's interest then snatch the money out of their hands before they have a chance to change their minds. I've already sold my own copies on two occasions and had to replace them rather than lose a sale. Anyway, you've gone a bit formal haven't you, or has stardom gone to your head? Will I be able to say, in the future, "I knew him when he was just Tim the Twangler". DC |
Subject: RE: Tap and Spile (Grimsby) CD. From: Tim Leaning Date: 25 Sep 07 - 01:37 AM I am just Tim now mate no longer a twangler. Hope visit ooop north goes well and I think you are the star realy |
