Had a wonderful time as always!

Dressing up night was good. Micca and I wore our wedding outfits and Tony and Pearl lead everyone in The Wedding Song for us...which was special!!

Thank you to Tony and Pearl for leading the wonderful sing-a-round in the Barn and to Morticia and Micca for leading the sing-a-round on Monday night. Tony and Pearl you were missed last night.

Great to meet up with old friends and make new friends too.

See you all soon x

It was good to get there this year if only for two sessions (Saturday lunchtime just me and Sunday night with moira). I took a few photos Sunday night as such an occasion could not go unrecorded, good luck to you catsPHiddle and Micca.
Now as for instruments, yes I did have my melodeon but you can't accuse me of playing it was just for sale!

Sorry Trayton, didn't mean to be such a nazi.

Did you sell the Melodeon?
Were you the chap who played the "Evil" version of Donkey-Riding?

Cheers all

John

Yes, a good do again - but excuse me mentioning it, all the picture-taking (and the games with the hip-flasks) while other people were singing was a real pain.

The Barn used to be noted as a place with a very open atmosphere, where everyone was listened to with respect: it's a great shame that that's being lost, to one where people are being made to feel they're intruding on a private party.

I'm sure the people who're doing it don't realise what it looks like to others, but ...

There has always been picture taking at the barn and a good thing too... in some cases, it's all we have left of the singers (Rod Sherman and Chris Gorniak to name but two). The hip flasks can get out of hand but again, they've been around for years.

Tony O'Neill runs the singarounds in the Barn. He asks folks to behave if he feels the need to. If Tony says stop, it stops. If he doesn't say anything, then whatever happens, happens. There is certainly no intention to make it a private party, if you want a try of a hipflask, just put out your hand and grab it as it goes past.

However..... you go to ANY club/pub/office - anywhere that people gather in numbers - and you will find there is an "inner circle" of jokes you don't understand, conversations you can't break into or activities you aren't asked to participate in. It's just part of lifes' rich tapestry.
