I can't stand watching this go without any bids:

It's an incredibly rare English 78 that most collectors of Jean's records have never even seen. I would bid on it myself, but I already have a the only other copy I've ever seen for sale.

Wow. Ritchie was one of my earliest inspirations but it had never occurred to me that she might have cut a 78.

Have any other living Mudcatters done that?

Yes. I have, and so have a bunch of other artists including John Fahey, Mike Seeger (as Birmingham Bill) and many more, on the Fonotone label out of Frederick MD, run by lifelong old time music, blues and jazz collector Joe Bussard. Whether you regard it as a commercial label is something else again ... but that's another story.

It didn't sell. I have made the commitment to empty my home of stuff I don't use. That includes LPs. Although I will keep a few. But I am forbidden by common sense to buy any more. SIGH. Common Sense is a terrible thing.
