I was wondering if someone could help me find any information about a song called "The Ballad of the Hot Rod Kid." I know the lyrics but I need to know who sang it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

The only song I can find on a quick search is "Be the Reason You Smile" which mentions "The Hot Rod Kid". I believe it is a rap song, but can't get a clear set of lyrics.

Where did you hear it? And what are the lyrics?

It is an old song I think from the 50. Some of the lyrics are: Here's a story of a kid who's got the hottest car around
never does under 55 when he's speeding through the town
on the highway he opens it up and does 105
taking a chance of leaving this world and making someone cry
