Subject: New Web Site -- An Invitation
From: Paul G.
Date: 22 Aug 99 - 02:54 PM

Friends:

After a month or so of struggle and angst, I have completed my new web site. In this regard, and trying to shy away from that shameless self-promotion thing, the invitations are two-fold...first, to visit, critique, and download one of my tunes. I'll be rotating MP3's of my first recording and over the next several months providing previews of the new one...second, any 'catters with pages of their own who would like a link from my page are invited to drop me an email (there's a mailto: on my site)with your URL. Provided the content is non-objectionable I'll get you linked up. Here's my first attempt at the creation of a blue clicky thing...to be taken to my page click here. If that doesn't do it, the URL is http://www.jacksonville.net~pgarf

Others may wish to use this thread to list their sites (apologies if its redundant).

Best to all,

Paul G.

Hi, Paul. It looks pretty good, except it is a little slow to laod at first. I like the graphics and links, but I couldn't hear your music, because when I clicked on it, a box from my system popped up asking what program I wanted to use to play it. Didn't ahve aclue which one to choose. I know i can do the MP3 instant play with no prob.

Also, it said, on your site, that it was going to take 23 minutes to load one piece, but in a matter of a few seconds it went to the pop-up I mentioned. Any suggestions? I'd like to hear it. Looks like you did a great job, very professional.

Hi Kat...

The RealPlayer "Real Juke Box" which downloads for free with RealPlayer G2 works great. Any MP3 player like winamp ought to manage it well also. I'm not enough of a "teckie" to know why it loads well for some and not for others -- but if there are other more tech-oriented cats out there with ideas, I'd love to hear 'em. I want to make the site as universally accessible as possible. Hopefully you can find a way to hear the tunes, as I'd love your feedback!

Paul

Nice, neat, clean - quick loading page.

Maple Leaf was playing inside of 30 seconds.

Expected Scott Joplin - but got a heavy influence of Gordon Lightfoot

WELL DONE!!!
