Called Tales from the Bar..songs of the Lower Columbia River...it is mostly about the bar area itself though..great shipwreck songs, a beautiful lullaby, beautiful version of Crossing the bar..some historical songs, like the Boston men..songs about shanghaiing, the origins of the Coast Guard..lots of variety..not all shipwrecks...

I think if you like Maritime music, this will fit a niche you never know you had...really not a lot of songs about the area, but it is such an important maritime area and so powerful a place..and I think you get the "sense of place" here quite a bit on this CD, if I say so myself.

It is the same..J.C. Cousins..I did very little of the work other than helping round up songs...Alice did all the administrative stuff and wrote two beautiful songs for it as well...great review in Victory Music Review. mg

Now it would be nicer if the notes were available on the songs now. One can hear a sample of each song and there is a statement that the notes are being worked on. But I like to know where the song came from and who is leading it.
