Subject: The Blue Lagoon From: Johnny J Date: 09 Mar 26 - 05:02 PM Sad news. The Blue Lagoon at Glasgow Central Station is no more. https://youtu.be/nT0EJaKh2f4 Actually, a lot more damage was done to other buildings too. So sad. |

Subject: RE: The Blue Lagoon From: Tattie Bogle Date: 09 Mar 26 - 07:49 PM Loads of businesses affected and/or wiped out by yesterday’s major fire, including some of ScotRail and Network Rail offices, though seems the station itself suffered only smoke damage - though that still has to be checked thoroughly. Fundraising going on, and Scottish First Minister has promised financial help. |

Subject: RE: The Blue Lagoon From: Johnny J Date: 11 Mar 26 - 03:03 PM Yes, it's all very sad. I was worried in case people thought my post was in bad taste but Findlay has just posted the song on his FB site. So, it must be OK. The Blue Lagoon was an institution. Many a late night supper I had there when visiting Glasgow. The Irn Bru sign was iconic too. Sadly, that's gone as well. |

Subject: RE: The Blue Lagoon From: Jack Campin Date: 11 Mar 26 - 08:34 PM Which Blue Lagoon? There was one under the Hielanman's Umbrella (other side of the station from the fire) and one in the upper end of Buchanan Street (demolished 30 years ago). I thin there's a more recently established one in Partick. They were all contenders for the title of Worst Chippie On The Planet. Everything fried in under-temperature stale fat, sold to a late-night clientele too drunk to notice. |

Subject: RE: The Blue Lagoon From: GUEST,henryp Date: 12 Mar 26 - 12:05 AM Can confirm that Justin Bieber was a late-night client at the Blue Lagoon. But no mention that he was too drunk to notice the quality. "After his sold out Glasgow gig, the Canadian singer enjoyed a haggis supper and Irn Bru from the Blue Lagoon on Argyle Street - much to the delight of staff." |

Subject: RE: The Blue Lagoon From: Johnny J Date: 12 Mar 26 - 06:21 AM The "sit in" one in Renfield Street is very good. There are a few of them. As chippies go, they aren't that bad actually although late night service may be a hit or miss. |
