Hi, Max, I just heard the artist, Moby, on X-files this week, and loved his voice. They used his song, The Sky Is Broken, from his new Play album.

I went to this site for more info on him and found he seems to be all over the genre map, including doing some blues, some very plain and simple, with others what most would consider over-produced. Still...don't know if you have anything by him that fits or not, but if ya do, would you please play it?

On that page link, there is a link to his "Natural Blues", original version, and then one which was remixed. Interesting.

Also, I heard someone else on NPR this morning, singing Picasso's Mandolin. Do you know it? It sounded like one you would enjoy and do a great jpb of singing/playing. If you have on cd by anyone, it'd be a great one to share, too.

THANKS!!

kat

Gotta say... Moby is full of surprises.

He IS all over the genre map. He's also someone to watch for future developments. Back during the mid-'90's I first ran into him with his techno/electronica work. Pretty good stuff, if you're into it. For a while, he was working on Christian techno, of all things, and then lately he's resurfaced as alternative, adult contemporary, and just about anything else he seems to be interested in.

More power to 'im. I wanna be like Moby when I grow up!

M

Thanks, Max!

Sean, this is the first I'd heard of him, but I am impressed. Sure has a powerful voice and I couldn't get the remix of Natural Blues out of my head today.

I'll be watching for more.

Just to point out, because I'm not sure from your postings if you realise this, that it's not Moby's voice on 'Natural Blues', it's a sample. I think it's Vera Hall singing on that particular track - taken from a recording made by Alan Lomax back in 1959. I agree it's a great album.
