Right!!!!!!! I have a great request. Sharon Shannon plays too reels that would blow your mind. the first is called Connaghts Mans Rambles and the second is called A Mile from Dublin. Do any of you know either of them, could any of you supply the music ( in written form ). Would be indebted forever.!!!!!!Brigid

The Connaughtman's Rambles is in the Irish Fiddle Book by Matt Cranitch. It's a jig, though, not a reel. If it's what you're looking for, I can get you the music.

Never heard of the other one, but I'll check & see if it's in Cranitch too.

Hello, Brigid

I'll look through my tune collection. Connaught Man's Rambles is more commonly known as a jig. Now I can't be sure the versions I have are the same as Sharon Shannon's but leave your e-mail address and I'll see what I can do.

Regards,
radriano

Brigid, check this thread out. It is short and provides some links to some of the more popular sites for finding jigs, reels, etc.

Jon

Hi Brigid

There are several versions of a tune called Within a Mile from Dublin. I don't know if it's the same one you are looking for.

Also, I don't know if you are into ABC notation but there are scads of transcribed Sharon Shannon tunes (without titles, unfortunately) in the Adrian Scahill collection, his file Manuscript 2.

Connaught Man's Rambles I only have as a jig.

I don't believe we can post GIF files but if you wish to e-mail me at: radriano@consrv.ca.gov I can get the music to you. I can only receive e-mail during the week so I probably wouldn't get anything to you until next week.

Regards,
radriano

Jaysus, But aren't youse great.!!!!! I never cease to be amazed at the speed of this business.!! you are obviously all right, that these tunes are jigs, but the way she plays them you could probably do a reel to them too¨! My Email is brigidoconnor@freesurf.ch so if you manage the music Ii would be delighted. I have cakewalk music programme too. Brigid
