All I can find is the Beatles "Hello Goodbye" and it does not match the lyrics given. Help?

this song had to be from before the 1940's....probably before the 30's.. as my father said his father sung it.. and it may be a ditty.. but this is the only p[art her remembers...

so if anyone can find it I would be a very happy person...
