I've ignored these programs for a while , but I'm finding myself listening more and more, and prefer to video the TV and listen to the radio late. The thing is I'm getting paranoid about missing programs, and the amount of new material they throw up is going to do my bank balance serious injury. Last night there seemed to be endless gamelan or marimba tracks , but I still couldnt turn it off, then there was that group Mercury ???, with a singer that sounds like a young Niel Young. Any other cats listening in to this?

Definitely. As a lover of traditional music you have to scratch around on the airwaves to find it. There's certainly more to be had on Late Junction than you can find on Radio 2's dedicated Folk programme, and mixed with fascinating other stuff as well.

Absolutely.

And lest we forget, Mudcat's very own 'Ralphie' is Andy Kershaw's studio engineer.

Well I didn't know that! Hi Greg nice that your'e abreast of these things. I sent off for the L-J compilation CD, and it's got some very interesting stuff on it. I also heard Cornershop on Kershaw, Perhaps Andrew Lloyd Webber is right, Indian fusion is the future. Ill have to do first aid on my citar (poor thing is a right mess, and worse that a hurdy gurdy to tune).

Thanks for that, GUEST....Just a small point, I do quite a few of Mr Ks shows, and the occaional LJ as well...but, I'm only one of about 20 people who do.....
Yes, the Cornershop gig was great, but, my faves recently, have been Martin Simpson, and Dick Gaughan..
Oh, and Fogie....could you have meant "Mercury Rev" ?? an up and coming beat combo!!
Ah Well, Off to Glastonbury now....maybe see some of you at Womad in a few weeks...come and say hello...we'll be behind the Siam stage
Best Wishes Ralphie
