Can anyone direct me to a list of Songs/Lyrics referring to The Diggers for use in the classroom?

There's a song by Leon Rosselson called "World Turned Upside Down". Dunno what CD he recorded it on, but Dick Gaughan recorded it on "Handful of Earth". Hope that helps! You'll find the lyrics and a midi file in the DT here.

I learn something new every day; the only "Diggers" I had been aware of were Wavy Gravy's idealist-hippy communards in 1965-70 Haight Ashbury.

I can see now that they probably took their name from this much earlier English group, never mentioned in any history text I encountered here in the US (at least, not as far as I rememeber).

Billy Bragg has also recorded this on his Back to Basics CD, and it's also in Roy Bailey's repertoire.
