A good few months ago there was athread about the bbc dance segments inbetween shows- lamenting the lack of morris/british dance. I have spotted a sequence for BBC2 which had robot number 2's morris dancing. Has anyone else seen it?

. . . though they clearly cannot tell a melodeon from a concertina . . .

Is there a difference?

They may look different - but they both sound 'orrible'.

So can anything, but do have a listen to Spiers & Boden. There are free tracks on their website.

Two months ago, in fact - it appeared over the May Day weekend, and was commented on in Mudcat, but I haven't seen it since.
They probably used a concertina because it is 'prettier' than a melodeon, but that doesn't mean they don't know the difference. There was nothing to say they thought it was a melodeon and some Morris musicians do use concertinas.
