I've been told to put this in the music bit as I originally posted it in BS. Hope I've done it right this time!

Just wondered if there were any pubs around Chesterfield (Alfreton side) where we could turn up and play (acoustic instruments) this weekend and not get chucked out?

Try the Industry - some time since I played there, but always a good welcome

I've e-mailed John Prentice about this in case he can help.

I've been given a number of some musicians who play around Chesterfield. Ring Tim on 01246 823366, and say that Neil supplied the number and said that he is a very good musician.

Don't forget the Rivelin Valley Folk Day on Saturday. Not far at all and a beautiful setting. (see thread)

Thanks for all your help. After a few pints at lunchtime we settled down in the garden and had our own session - banjo, mandolin, recorder, harmonica, keyboards and bodhran.
