I know that a Folk Song Club was started in WSM in 1965 , and another was running a bit later run by Ian A Anderson , but both of those have gone the same way as the Blues sessions in The London Inn . Be nice to know if any thing happens there now , though !

informal folk / blues sessions fri nights & sun afternoons in the raglan
and possibly 1st monday of each month in one of the pubs in Uphill
[the dolphin ??]

accoustic sessions in the britannia and the back bar
usually sun and monday nights..

these are usual best options

plenty live music in pubs all year round mostly covers and tribute bands

punkfolkrocker - it seems a bit ad hoc

Mr Red's Mid West hasn't heard of them.

shhhhh.. the Raglan has been a bit of a closely guarded secret..
[for 'various' reasons..]

but now check out article in recent CAMRA mag 'Pints South West'

new enthusiastic landlord.. great local beers.. a good few folkie musicians amongst the regulars..

the Uphill sessions are in one of the pubs just downhill from the abandoned church.. actually its the better of the 2 pubs imho..
but i have bad memory for names [links with Raglan folkies]..

the Britannia for the last few years has a regular scene of older
blues / folk'ish' singers and musicians..
and younger kids who are more into performing acoustic rock / soul standards..
[..a by-product of the thriving music tech and performance courses at the local college..]

the Back bar is also building a similar scene as its right next door to the Brit..

[oh.. not forgetting Scallies.. the 'biker friendly' heavy metal / blues rock pub.. regular gigs from a variety of touring bands..

or Hobbits if you fancy a late pint and Goth & xtreme metal..]

so for any folkies contemplating a quick cheap dirty weekend at the sea side..
there are a few music things to do in WsM
