Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: GUEST,one of "them" Date: 10 Feb 02 - 03:06 PM There's some as knows who kicked this thing aff and there's some as'd like to know ... But there were all sorts chippin' in ... However... I'm the man that kicked it off and got a kick out of watchin' it kick off in all directions. Glad people enjoyed it! Let it rest now and something else might crop up in future or might not. And 'spaw ... cheers, mate. You know talent when you see it! ... The Masked Man Of Drumcree |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: GUEST,cute hoors anonymous Date: 10 Feb 02 - 03:31 PM I've been thrown out of much better places than this one. And I'll be proud to say I was put outta Mudcat on me arse by the management. GuerrillaGael |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: ard mhacha Date: 10 Feb 02 - 03:33 PM God save us, the oul masked Tenor never died. Well i`m afraid he is about to meet his end on future postings to the Mudcat. The man himself, MAX, de Boss, has decreed that GUESTS have had their fling and brilliant THREADS like the Drumcree Oscar winner will be no more. If McGrath would enlighten me as to how I can get in touch with his Stratford friends, who are organising to send donations, I will contribute. But what a pity to eliminate such Threads as Drumcree, more power to your elbow GUEST and stay with us, its a good Site the Mudcat, but, people like you tend to blow away a lot of the Cobwebs. Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: GUEST,Brendy Date: 10 Feb 02 - 10:49 PM Just read all of it. Killicomaine; Buckie; The Ashburn on a Sunday night. And apparently I play The Kesh in Eminor - it's all fairly close to home. But I'll tell you this: I would much prefer to see an 'ecumenical' Megasession at Drumcree than the current cacophony that generally eminates from those parts. B. |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: alison Date: 10 Feb 02 - 11:07 PM hello stranger Nice to see you back Brendy... I was just thinking a few days ago I hadn't seen you in ages... and how much you'd have enjoyed those threads.... now check out this one and see what songs you can come up with finally made it to Belfast slainte alison |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: Brendy Date: 11 Feb 02 - 12:05 AM Hello wee darlin! Sorry I missed all of this, and seeing some of the references, I knew that at least a few of the Lurgan 'brigade' were in on it. The intimacy of knowledge with which the 'Drumcree' threads were written, could not be learned, and the non native posters could be spotted a mile away. I Read the 'Made it to Belfast' thread, and the parodying of all the 32 counties in song would be a great move altogether, and I'll figure out some sort of contribution. Difficult counties, though, could well include, Longford, Westmeath, and Carlow. Of the Ulster ones, one could find Cavan and Monaghan particularly interesting places to pour the creative salivical juices over. I'll get back to you on this.... Apart from that, everything's fine; hope you and yours are all well, and congratulations again to everyone who made a Drumcree thread a pleasure to open. B. |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: Brendy Date: 11 Feb 02 - 12:42 AM I've had 'In The Town Of Ballybay' involuntarily running around in my head for the past number of days (probably a Tommy Makem thing!)...so... Well.... And with me ring a ding a dong, Forgive me.. it's late, but I couldn't resist a brainstorm!! B. |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: Fibula Mattock Date: 11 Feb 02 - 04:35 AM Spaw, yer a sweetheart - the Campsite at Drumcree thread has been one of the nicest to both read and contribute to. Fair play to the guys that began it and kept it growing (I didn't join in anonymously 'til towards the end of the first one). Maybe we can get a Norn Iron gathering going and invite Eamon Holmes to open it. Anyone know if you can get cross-community comedy grants? |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 11 Feb 02 - 04:57 AM Ok, I also enjoyed participating laterly to the last half of the thread, made me laugh, and was good fun. Laughed at all the excellent parodies that came from it all. Sorry, guilty as charged, I can't deny it. But it was a helluva giggle joining in Ella |
Subject: RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! From: GUEST,Purple And Orange Date: 11 Feb 02 - 06:22 AM It's over ... I've shoved up a finale ... Thanks to all who helped me out on this one! Who knows where our fevered imaginations will take us next? Or when?
