Can't find a link anywhere. Why not? Who wrote it? Is the tune from some other song? etc. Same CD as the "I Ride an Old Paint" cannery song I posted yesterday.

I meet him in the smokehouse, where the smoke curls to the sky,

Sang it at Song Circle, and the consensus was it's by Mary Garvey (the mention of Stella is a strong clue).

On the CD the last two lines of each verse are repeated. At Song Circle I only did the repeat on the last verse.

I did write it. It is from Stella near my hometown. I heard it might have been translated into Norwegian. I am honored you sang it.

I think the tune is closely related to "The Frozen Logger".
