I am looking for a comercial jingle for Chambers Caskets. I think the opening lines were something like:

Chambers caskets are so fine
Made of sandalwood and pine

Nothing sucks like a Hoover!

And this is supposed to have actually been used by a Washington, DC funeral home in their 1920-30s radio ads:

Chambers caskets are so fine,
Made of sandal-wood and pine.
When your loved ones pass away,
Have them pass the Chambers way.
If your loved ones have to go,
Just call COlumbus-6-5-0h.
Chambers customers all sing,
"Death, oh death, where is thy sting?

(To the tune of "Rock of Ages."

And on another topic mentioned here:
The instructions for the © and ® given above, the ones with "tic-tac-toe" in 'em, are two or three hard-to-remember keystrokes longer than the alt+ASCII numbers version. I also don't know what some of those keys are, to boot. Seems to me that learning alt-0169 or alt-0174 would be easier.

Bob Clayton

Rest in peace, Bob. I enjoyed knowing you.
But but believe me, folks, there is nothing like this in the entire Googleverse.

I'd forgotten that song, many years ago it was sung in our sessions, how many other great songs are lurking in the depths of my memory, just awaiting a nudge to become an earworm again!!

I was just listening to this on the album “No Man’s Land” by Dennis Tracey.

The lyrics in that version are in a slightly different order, and have a couple of minor differences to the version above.

Chambers caskets are so fine,
Made of sandal-wood and pine.
If your loved ones have to go,
Dial Columbia triple-0h.
If your loved ones pass away,
Have them pass the Chambers way.
Chambers customers all sing,
"Death, o death, where is thy sting?”
Amen!

Patrick Sky's "Vatican Caskets," on his "Songs That Made America Famous" album, is a version of the Chambers Caskets jingle with "Vatican" subbed in for "Chambers" and "Dial et cum spiritu tuo" (spiri-2-2-0?) subbed in for the phone-number line.

A humble local adaptation and expansion of Lyrics provided by Songster Bob...

Commerce Funeral Hears Your Voice (?)
Based on a 3 Oct 2000 “Muscat Cafe post by Songster Boby Tune = “Rock of Ages”

                  1            4            1
Commerce Funeral Home is fine,
                     5                                  1
Choose from sandalwood through pine.
                  5                           1
When your loved ones pass away,
                   5                               1
Have them pass the Commerce way,
                                 4         1
When it comes your time to go,
    5       1
886-8600.

If cremation is your choice,
Commerce Funeral hears your voice.
In the ground or in the flame,
Everyone will know your name.
Commerce customers all sing,
“Death, oh death, where is thy sting?“

As you cross that earthly gap,
Slip into that final nap.
Cast aside your fears and cares,
Leave your future to Jim Ayres
When it comes your time to go,    (5# - 1)
886-8600   “903 that is”    886-8600.
