Hi! I'm new here, so I'm not quite sure how to go about all this.

first, I know some more verses to a song that's on the site... is there a specific person to email or a thread to post? I don't want to just post them generally, because I suspect they could offend some people; the song they go with is marked "@bawdy". ["Shaving Cream", which I learned at camp and is listed here as a variant of "Sweet Violets"]

The other is, I'm looking for a song and it doesn't appear to be on the site. There's a similar song listed here.....I think it's the same melody, and it's the same idea, but the lyrics are different. A friend sang it for me once, and I can't remember it except the chorus.

Anyone know what I should do about both providing lyrics and finding them?

Thanks!

Estela - if you do a "digitrad and forum search" for sweet violets by putting the words into the box at the top of the thread list [ see it there on the left? ] it will bring up a list of threads on the topic. one should be an appropriate place to type in the lyrics if indeed no one else already has. (You may wish to check the teal permathread for newcomers regarding how to get your lyrics to show in proper form.)

For the lyrics request - start a thread using "help" or "lyrics and chords request" and something as a title - preferably as specific as possible - maye something like "Help - xxxxxx varient?" since you have spotted something similair. Of course, you might also want to do a forum search on a phrase from the chorus first, as it MAY have been discussed.

Does any of this make sense?

Hi Laura, you best plan is to read the Mudcat FAQ. It is the perma-thread at the top of this list. That should answer your questions.

There is discussion about "Shaving Cream" in the Teasing Songs (click here) thread, including a link (click) that I posted to several verses.

Post the lyrics! Just throw a note at the top stating "the below may be offensive to some" or somesuch.

Bowdlerization has its time and place, but I'm pretty damn sure that online amongst this crowd isn't it.

For the other song, try creating a new thread with the prefix Lyr Req: (from the drop-down menu) and subject
Similar to "insert the title"

Then type in a few lyrics.
If you want line breaks, type <br> after each line.

Pene Azul, your version of shaving cream is the version I knew, except we added "bop bop mm bop bop mm bop bop mm bop..." to the end of the chorus, often with a sort of duck down-sit up "dance" to the mm bops.

thanks everyone....hopefully someone can help me find the song I'm looking for, I made a new thread.
