Well, folks, thanks again to all of you who offered advice on the bathtub enamel repair thing... I went to Home Depot and bought the Bondo tub repair kit and let me tell you it worked like a charm. Mix up the paste, spread it on, let it dry, sand it down. Piece of cake.

Who's got other interesting uses for Bondo? ;)

I'm hitting my forehead with the flat of my hand and wondering why I didn't think of that! Will you give us an update in a couple of months to let us know if it is still working?

A couple years ago when Bubba shot his car, he used Bondo to fix the bullet hole.....

Is it true that "Bondo" is still an original factory-color choice for any combination of fenders, quarter panels, trunk and roof on new cars sold in Dixie, or have things changed since I was last in the Cradle of the Confederacy?

MD, I think that option was only available on '74 GTO's, Firebirds and Chevy II's. Special discount was available if you got the hood scoops and spoilers. Elkton, Virginia in its entirey is a showroom for such vehicles.

Ah yes, the midsummer night smell of sanded-down Bondo, wherever young people can afford beaters... right next door to the local garage band...

Mountain Dog, as I was leaving aforementioned Home Depot, in the parking lot there sat a Camaro/Firebird type car that was nothing but good ol'primer gray. (yes I am in Tennessee) Mister has confessed to having cars that were more Bondo than metal... of course, that was in the 70s...

I think it will work a lot better than the nail-polish touch-up thingy.
