Subject: Belafonte Lyrics From: Joe Offer Date: 14 Feb 01 - 05:23 PM Hi, Sigurd - I thought I knew Harry Belafonte's music quite well, but that's one song I'm not familiar with. I found this site (click) that has a vast collection of Belefonte lyrics, but not "Mo Mary." It does show that the song is on two CD's. Good luck. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Mo Mary From: dick greenhaus Date: 14 Feb 01 - 06:15 PM Dyer-Bennett sang it (very well). Words and music are in the old Dyer-Bennett Songbook which I (sadly) no longer have. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Mo Mary From: Deckman Date: 14 Feb 01 - 06:23 PM "Out on the hillside by the shelan, Mo mary my beloved" ... Great song. My dim memory says Scottish Islands. I may be able to dig and find the words that Harry sang. "Mo Mary, Mo Lenan, Mo Mary, My Beloved, On the hillside by the Shelan, Mo mary, my beloved." CHEERS, Bob |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Mo Mary From: John Hindsill Date: 14 Feb 01 - 07:46 PM "Mo Mary" appears on Belafonte's '"Mark Twain" and Other Folk Favorites', RCA LPM 1022. The album dates to 1954 [I can't believe I bought it all those years ago] and is long out of print. But I have a worn duplicate copy, playable but not great. That cut is good. If you have a phonograph or turntable, I can be persuaded to let it go cheap.---John |
