Subject: Eddy Raven From: GUEST,Buzz Date: 21 May 01 - 04:18 PM Is anyone out there familiar with a guy called "Eddy Raven"if so would you know if there are any midi files available? |
Subject: RE: Eddy Raven From: Matt_R Date: 21 May 01 - 06:52 PM I sure am! He's a Louisiana-born Country singer who was very popular in the 80's. I'm not sure if there are any MIDIs of him. Gosh, his music defines my life in the 80's...."Operator, Operator," "Women Were Made To Love," "In A Letter To You," "Bayou Boys," "I've Got Mexico," and a cover of Richard Thompson's "Tear-Stained Letter". |
Subject: RE: Eddy Raven From: GUEST,khandu Date: 21 May 01 - 10:25 PM I love the guy. The afore-mentioned songs are great. Another one is "Who Do You Know in California". Alas, I cannot help in your search for midis. khandu |
Subject: RE: Eddy Raven From: Matt_R Date: 22 May 01 - 08:36 AM I, had forgotten that one! Great song! I think I read somewhere that he is releasing his first album in years soon. |
Subject: RE: Eddy Raven From: GUEST,jamesd_a Date: 22 May 01 - 11:39 AM Eddy Raven also had a really good song called "Joe Sure Knows How to Live". If you like that Cajun/Zydeco influence, check out a guy named Jo-el Sonnier, who also did a terrific version of "Tear Stained Letter". I also thought Eddy Raven deserved more recognition and fame than he got. |
Subject: RE: Eddy Raven From: Jim the Bart Date: 22 May 01 - 01:03 PM A friend of mine played fiddle with him before going to work for Rickie Van Shelton and hated to switch because he was such a great guy and great performer. It's good to hear he has something new coming out. |
Subject: RE: Eddy Raven From: Matt_R Date: 22 May 01 - 01:06 PM Yep, the song I referred to as "Women Were Made To Love" is really called, as James pointed out, "Joe Sure Knows How To Live". |
