Hello all, as a young musician who likes to play irish but doesn't have the chance to make it to any sessions, I was wondering if there are any large midi libraries of irish music, preferrable fiddle oriented. Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks.

JC's Tunefinder. Type in a title, then choose a format. G is for gif which is sheet music. There are several others, but you need an abc translator program for most of them.

There are many, but I don't know of any that have only Irish tunes (in so many cases, it's impossible to be sure whether a tune is originally Irish, Scottish or English).  The most comprehensive resource is certainly J C's Tunefinder, as Sorcha says, though in principle you search there for a given tune-name.  Look at  CEOLAS  for lots of very useful links; it's where I started out looking for fiddle tunes a couple of years ago when I was new to search-engines and the like.

Also, the Ceolas link to Richard Robinson's Tunebook is outdated, new page Here.

I have found much too late in life, that bringing a tape recorder along to a session or performance and repeating the name of the tune on tape has helped me learn dozens more tunes than the stacks of books I have.
Brían.
