On Sunday night I went to see a band, they were really really good. They are callee Banoffi, they were at the Tap & Spile in Hull. They are from Whitby and they play loads of different instrunents (whistles, fiddle, bozooki, drums etc). They were so good that I bought there CD even though I was a bit skint, it is really good. They have got a website(www.banoffi.com).If anybody gets a chance to see them you should definetly go, you will like it.

Oh, I've come across/heard of them - So, they're good? Thanks for the tip-off - will check the web site as I'm sure it rings a local bell(probably as in they were gigging localish 2 months ago :(

Another great celtic band to look out for is Legacy from the South Coast (at the Southsea Festival I think this weekend)

Cheers, Hille

Challis-They are very good, they are based in Whitby, but if they ever go to your area try to see them.

Banoffi are excellant musicians who play a variety of musical styles as well as Celtic there Eastern European stuff is equally as impressive.

There is also some very nice self penned material .... go and see them (if you can) and judge for yourself

They apparently play most Tuesdays (I THINK its Tuesdays) at the Whitby Tap, John. I've never heard them live, but that regular gig of theirs is always mentioned in the Diary bit of the 'Folk & Roots' Show on Radio Humberside.

HI John ..... Dave Moss, the fiddler, was once a regular at the folk club I attend, so I have watched the talent emerge and have always been a fan

Apart from being super blokes -- the band have a deep feeling for the music they play
