Is this the one? If so it was written by Ewan McColl. I have it on CD at home. However, I won't be able to get to it for about a week. I'll trace this thread. If this IS the correct song, & if you haven't got the words by then, I'll have a listen & post them. Regards, Eddie

Verse 2 is as given above (10-Oct-01 - 07:04 AM), but line 5 should read "ROCK & SWAMPLAND" not "ROCK & CONCRETE"

When your diggin' days are over,
And you've loaded your last ton,
When your Cat's been broken up for scrap,
And your RB10 won't run,
When you've had your last stamp on your cards,
And reached your last abode,
For a long time after, there'll be people,
Travellin' on your road.

Huge, I am not 100% certain of the names/ numbers of the various machines: 54 RB could be 54RP, and RB10 could be RP10. Maybe someone who knows these kind of machines could assist.

For your info both 54RB and RB10 is correct

The RB standing for the makers name of the machines wich is "RUSTON BUCYRUS"
