hello there, Is there anyone who can help me to find the lyrics of two songs that Clannad have recorded. Its Buachaill on eirne and Coinleach glas an fhomiar. In advance, thank you very much.

Sorcha's first link gave me a Mudcat search box, without links to threads or DT. But if you refer to "Come by the Hills", it isn't a translation of Buachaill ón Éirne but is set to the same air. Áine's webpages are more reliable than http://www.jtwinc.com/clannad/sbuachai.htm for correct words and spelling. Which is the plekenpol site, ciarili?
Áine provides Buachaill ón Éirne but not Coinleach Ghlas an Fhómhair, which is at Mudcat as well as at the aforementioned unofficial Clannad website.

BUACHAILL ÓN ÉIRNE

The Boy from the Erne is one of my favorite songs, especially since the listener can interpret the lyrics in many ways. At first glance, it would seem to be a braggart's song and rather insulting to the poor girl to whom it is sung. However, if you consider all the attributes claimed by the man in the song to actually be the exact opposites of his actual place in life, then you can see how 'tongue-in-cheek', flirtatious and teasing the song really is!
