Subject: RE: Unzipping Digitrad file From: artbrooks Date: 27 Oct 02 - 08:09 PM Assuming you have Netzip or one of the other free/cheap unzippers, it should work ok. I had to run it twice before it actually took. |
Subject: RE: Unzipping Digitrad file From: Joe Offer Date: 27 Oct 02 - 08:36 PM Hi, Mike - I think Winzip's evaluation version should unZip the file for you. Can't figure out why Acrobat would open when you click on the file. I don't think Acrobat is supposed to have anything to do with Zip files. -Joe Offer- (e-mail sent)- |

Subject: RE: Unzipping Digitrad file From: Amos Date: 28 Oct 02 - 12:03 AM Bluesmike: Try it by running your Zip application and starting the process from the application (Open file...) and then pointing it at the target file. It is an error caused by some weird data in the file that maps applications to kinds of files. These mappings are sometimes stored in the preferences for the browser itself, and sometimes in the system files, and tell the computer which kind of application to use according to the file type. Yours has gotten crossded up into thinking Acrobat is the very thing to open Zip files with. A |
Subject: RE: Unzipping Digitrad file From: Bluesmike Date: 28 Oct 02 - 06:53 AM Hi and thanks- winzip took about half an hour to unzip me but digitrad seems to be all there- this poor old computer doesn't like big files- I found the components on a council throw out a year or so ago -but I will keep playing with it- That is if I can tear myself away from the forum- addictive critter ain't it. Once again thanks to everyone who has helped. |
