I have been wanting to learn the song "I Like To Sleep Late In The Morning" that was performed by David Bromberg for some time. The lyrics are posted several places in the forum without chords.

Does anyone know the song? If so, could you please post the chords?

I first heard this on a David Blue (David Cohen) recording about 1965
and as I recall it's pretty straight ahead.

Thats how I recall it with no guitar near bye to verify it.

Why refresh? Don (I assume Meixner) has it right and you can embellish the bass run here and there especially in the last line. Pick you three chords and go for it. I liked it in E strummed and C picked.

Sorry Don and Spaw, but that is not how Bromberg played it. This is how Bromberg played it:

G)Some (C)Gal told me to(F)day,

Boy your wasting your(F#dim) life a(C)way

She said It's bad how I spend my (F)time(F#dim)

Said you'll (G)never make a(C)dime.


Where it says (F#dim) you need to thumb the F# on the bottom E string.

The rest is OK
