Subject: Chords of Fame From: GUEST,Chris King Date: 21 Jun 03 - 12:40 PM Many years ago before the dawning of Radio 2 internet playlists I heard a song on air which the presenter quickly (too quickly) identified as 'Chords of Flame' by someone who sounded like 'Ear-i' (??). I've tried to track this down over the years and through a chance search on the Mudcat Lyrics page found Dylan's 'Chords of Fame' which has probably solved half the mystery. Any ideas on who the singer or singers might be would be appreciated. On a similar vein, I heard Alison Krauss's 'Down to the River to play' played completely unanounced on a late night radio programme shortly after the soundtrack from 'O Brother'was released. Blew me away completely and took a week trawling the net and playing Sherlock Holmes to eventually identify what I'd been listening to. Was worth the effort in the end but I often wonder why Radio presenters can't announce artist and song title after every track played... Chris King |
