While profiteers raced in to get their share

He saw that Haliburton won the war
For to the victor, alone will go the spoils
He began to see who he was fighting for

But for the soldiers, no war had ended
For all his comrades the fight was still on

And then the blackness fell and his life was gone

It occurred to me that, like the rest of my generation (in this country anyway) I've always referred to World War II as "the last war". Do people still call it that?

It is a sign of our age, McGrath, I tend to think of Viet Nam as the last war, "Well back during the war I was a C.O."... each generation has its last war, eh? Larry

Well done, Larry. It seems even more ironic in light of the news about Jessica Lynch getting a million dollar book deal with her co-author being the brat the NYTimes fired for plagarism!
