If you can make it out to Austin for the first weekend in November, come on out to the Austin Celtic Festival at Feista Gardens on Sat Nov 1 and Sun Nov 2.

This is a great festival, run by some wonderful folks. Ed Miller will be performing, along with a number of regional and interenational performers. I will be doing a couple of sets, one each, on Sat and Sun and I'll be doing a presentation/workshop on Irish and Scots in the US Civil War and early Texas.

This is a music and dance focused festival, with great sound stages presented in a beautiful lakeside park. There will be a numberof very good, very traditional performers, some modern stuff - and some story focused perfomers (like me).

I hope to see ya there. Please come out and say hello if you're able to make it.

Hey Jed

Can't make it to Austin, although I did have a great time seeing you last Saturday at the Celtic Heriotage Festival in Bedford. You set was great! Too bad you didn't have time for an encore :-) Oh yeah, you started with the eoncre....

Ya gotta play Minneapolis sometime!

Minneapolis? I agree! Do you know anybody there? It's awefully hard to get in unless you know someone.

I'm glad you made the Bedford fest. Nice fokls, that run it. It's a good little festival. I think they had just over 10,000 for the weekend, so it's not too little.

Austin should be grand. We're due for some good weather. Surely it cannot rain 4 years in a row???

All of a sudden, I'm back at a wee corner table in a Serrano's in Austin a few years back, dining, discussing and finally jamming with Jed. Highlight of that trip, for sure (well, other than visiting with the dear friends who coerced me into traveling from Canada).

Best o' fortune with the festival, Jed. I'll not be there, but then again, if the lottery gods smile upon me in the meantime . . .

'Twas a good visit, Jeremiah. Maybe next year you can plan a trip and include the festival. It's actually quite a good one for music lovers. It is only a few years old, so not so big and unweidly as some of the top festival can be ... but they have some really really performers, great sound stages and a good variety; a musician's musician sort of festival, if that makes sense. They were rained out pretty bad last year, had a relatively poor turn out (still made enough$ to manage - a sign of a well managed event) - but I had a great time, as did all the musicians. Music is the king at this event.

Hope to see you here in 2004!

OK - one more try, just in case there're any shy South Texas or West Louisiana folks out there who need a little push!

They've got a great event planned this year. I am looking forward to it.

Hey,

Jed, tell Ed Miller "Hi" for me. It's been quite a few years, but tell 'em Ben Seymour who used to host "Celtic Winds" at WNCW in North Carolina sez "HI"!
