Subject: Graham / Sheila Nelmes From: GUEST,Lancashire Lad Date: 10 Apr 04 - 10:54 PM Does anyone know what happened to a Cheshire based duo called Graham and Sheila Nelmes? I have a copy of their album from the early 80s which I thoroughly enjoy. I cant seem to find any other recordings by them, nor do I know if they continued playing live. Any clues? LL |

Subject: RE: Graham / Sheila Nelmes From: GUEST Date: 02 Aug 07 - 04:31 PM I remember seeing Graham and Sheila Nelmes in Manchester when I was a student back in 1981, and hearing them once on the local BBC radio station. I shamefacedly admit to having a very bad quality live recording of "Lady Franklin's Lament" with a loud beer pump going in the background that I still listen to now. Is this record still available (though it may not sound the same without the beer pump)? I could only find one place selling it used at $40 (how's that for an accolade)! |

Subject: RE: Graham / Sheila Nelmes From: GUEST,Graham Nelmes Date: 22 Oct 07 - 10:17 AM We certainly played the university and were frequesntly on local radio. $40 I could make a fortune! I still have copies available if anyone is interested - graham@gnelmes.co.uk |

Subject: RE: Graham / Sheila Nelmes From: GUEST Date: 30 Nov 25 - 07:12 AM Gosh! This thread is 20 years ago. Only just found it. I produced and presented the folk show on BBC Radio Manchester in the late 1980s. I wish I had known about this lovely album back then; i'd have given it loads of airtime. Mike Billington. |
