There are some musical items on Ebay for which I would like to bid, but they have 'Ship to US only' restrictions.

Can anyone suggest a way by which I could obtain a (trusted) US shipping address from which the items could be forwarded to me in the UK?

Pavane - If it's a stringed instrument like a mandolin or a guitar - send it to me. After a few weeks of testing I'll make sure it's up to your standards and send it along.

Seriously - I would think that somewhere there is a professional service that would ship items to you in a situation like this - I'll ask around and see what I can come up with.

I have done a lot of bidding at EBay (from Canada). When I see the USA only on a bid sheet, I use the 'Ask seller a question' service and ask permission to bid, indicating how I will pay (US international MO). Nearly all email back with an OK. Many are wary of shipping to countries outside of western Europe and Canada.

Try this before going to a buying service.

Try that, espeically if your feedback is pretty high. I sell a lot of stuff on Ebay and have stopped being willing to ship outside the U.S. and Canada because so often I never get paid, or they want the item for the domestic shipping rate.

I have mailed two of them, and got a reply from one that he would consider it but has never done it before. Payment shouldn't be a proble, I have a Paypal account.

So I will see if I succeeed with that item. I could have bought an identical item same privately from an advertiser (not auction) in Italy, but we couldn't come up with a mutually acceptable solution - he wanted me to send cash.

pavane, I have a paypal account. If you'd like to have it shipped to me, then I could ship it to you, provided you paid for shipping, of course, via my paypal account, no problem. PM me if you are interested. I've done this for someone in Canada.
