Subject: Bruce Olson site glitch. From: Steve Gardham Date: 28 May 20 - 01:56 PM Hi Just been on the Bruce Olson pages looking for info on Lord Thomas and Fair Ellinor. There seems to be a serious problem with a missing section in the Broadside Index. It mysteriously jumps from 'Let us....' to 'North....' with lots of Ls, Ms and Ns missing. Anyone find the same and have an explanation please? I am putting together the earliest dates for LT & FE and several sources say there was a version in the 1607 edition of Deloney's 'Strange Histories', but the copies available online do not seem to contain it or any reference to it. I wonder if this is an error. There are plenty of later broadsides c1670. |

Subject: RE: Bruce Olson site glitch. From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 28 May 20 - 02:58 PM Reinhard - Yes that's the local copy (after Bruce died, Mudcat took on the hosting of his site so it wouldn't get lost). There are also snapshots on the Wayback Machine at archive eg Broadside Ballad Index (2004 snapshot) Mick |
Subject: RE: Bruce Olson site glitch. From: Steve Gardham Date: 28 May 20 - 03:26 PM Thanks, both Unfortunately Bruce didn't mention the Deloney connection and he doesn't appear to have a separate study on LT&FE that I can find. |

Subject: RE: Bruce Olson site glitch. From: Steve Gardham Date: 29 May 20 - 06:48 AM I had saved it to my Favourites list before it came under threat when Bruce died. Something must have gone wrong with the downloading. |
