Here are some lyrics:

"The longest mile is the last mile home, When you've been away"...........and then it ends something like : "I've travelled far over land and sea, da-di-dah you'll return to me, The longest mile I'll ever roam, Is the last mile home".

Angel, I know the song you mean but not sure of all the words: The longest mile is the last mile home, when you've been away The dearest dreams are the dreams of home, when you've been away. You'll travel far, over land and sea, then one day it's as clear as can be, The sweetest mile you'll ever roam, is the last mile home.
