I am trying to save some money to travel to the states to see my grandfather before he goes on to the other side but it will take some time to do so, but if someone Is coming to Iceland please let me know , there coult be another mudcat meeting In Iceland. The weather Is good at the moment In south Iceland , but It is snowing in the North side... and we thought there was the summer goming...it is just few day ahead. I hope that I can visit my grandfather and in the same trip visit some of you In Mudcat town, All the best from us here In Iceland.

Don't I wish. I've always wanted to visit Iceland but don't think I can afford it.

But if you're coming over here, there's plenty of Mudcatters who would be delighted to provide accomodation.

Unfortunately, I will be fortunate to just go a few hundred miles away from home this summer, Skarpi. I do hope you will be able to get over to see your grandfather. What part of the States does he live near? If we know ahead of time, some of may be able to make it.

Good luck and it is good to hear from you.

kat

It might be worth considering for anyone on the way from North America to Europe (or vice versa) to fly by Iceland Air and arrange a layover in Iceland.

Last year I flew from Minneapolis/St Paul to London and back by Iceland Air. Service was good, and it was the cheapest flight we could find.

Skarpi min!

Nice to hear from you again. I hope you are well. My recollection is that when the weather is good in Akureyri it is usually bad in Reykjavik and vice-versa.

I will be singing in Europe a couple of times this Summer and I will probably fly on Icelandair. Give me your phone number and I will try to call from Keflavik when I'm on the way back to New York. That would be about 1600 on a weekday.

Bless,
Dan

Hey kat, your few hundred miles wouldn't happen to be in this direction by any chance?

Hi Bert!

If you are flexible and you really want to visit Iceland, you can do it for very little money.

Scenario #1 - Fly from BWI or JFK to London (where you might be going anyway) and there is no additional airfare charge for a stopover of 1, 2 or 3 days.

Scenario #2 - You can fly to Iceland for a couple of days in Winter with a bare bones land package for $300 - $350. Tax is additional.

All the best,
Dan

Skarpi, my old friend!! I have missed you!! Are you coming to the States? When? Where? If it is reasonable, or even slightly unreasonable, I will get to where you are to meet with you.

And the band would love to come to Iceland to perform. Let's work on the details.

But most importantly, when are you coming to the states?

Mick
