Now A-Levels are all out of the way and University looms and so does the prospect of leaving the folk club I've enjoyed for years.

Thus the hunt for a new one begins, I've been told my lots of people that I won't have a problem with this but I thought I should try to get some info before I head there in about a months time. I'm particularly looking for a broadly singing club (as opposed to session nights etc) within easy walking or bus distance from the centre of the city and more importantly one either in or near a good pub!

Well I don't know if the Durham folk club is still going (it probably is as they organise th eDurham Folk Party each year) but I do know where you can find out. Monday nights at the Colpits pub there is a music session and the folks there will be able to point you in the right direction. The Colpits is a Sam Smiths pub on the road from the roundabout under the viaduct that leads to Neviles Cross can't remember the name of the street. 5 mins walk from the bus station. Kicks off about 9pm. And its a bloody good session.
