Look out for a grumpy old timer, thumping in jams on a new Martin...

Also easily identified by audiences running away when I sing...( dawgs sing better .....)

You can see a picture of JtS and me here.

I don't know if we'll be able to find you with your description of yourself though. I bet there will be a lot of people there who fit that description ;-)

Thanks for sharing the pics, I don't have any ..I bet there will be a lot of phoakies there too, like some of the Zippy Fingerpickers - always at Woody's doo in Oklahoma, and the odd genius songwriter from all over... Some festivals do, others don't have them. This would be my first Kerrville so I don't yet know.

Investigating ... will get back to you later

Okayyy heres the options for me ... since the price is so high, I would likely not stay more than one day, and since the location is so near I would not stay over on the site, besides if it were merely picking under a tree .... somewhere.. then there are millions of excellent locations at friends places all over the south of the state.

Soo to sample the Hotdogs and hear a few phoaks do silly stuff like sing to hundreds over a PA, to examine all the catchdollar stands and to mess with their minds, to be there if only for a day would justify spending 20 bucks MAYBE...

OTOH if I meet some real hot OT Fiddler, perhaps I might be persuaded to hang out under some ... any ... shadetree OFF site where there are no monetary impediments to sucking whiskey, dancin and raisin hell! where workin phoaks can have some R&R...

hmmmmm

Kerville is a premier songwriter's festival. the very best part is the campfires after the concerts. If you are looking for hot fiddlers look for camp Stupid or Camp quisine. Thats where the best musicains jam. The is every kind of songwriters there. often large contingants from Nashville and Austin and others from as far as Canada, New York and Cailfornia. If you want an accepting audience for your songs or you want to hears fresh, original songs from the mouths of their writers. Come to the Kerville Festival and spend a couple of days. We'll be in trailer Campsite 77 in the meadow, We'd love to see you!.

Thankyou to bits! Well it says so much for Texas that folks care and want to be right to musicians

Oh Kayyyy! one of the benefits of having a bad memory is having to make up yer own words...

Like dogs chew bones I seem to spew out bad songs. Looks like I may get a second job.. and I will try anything once, even mess with rich kids with fancy bands and stuff.

I must be at Camp Stupid ... and if you hear of a character called 'Lipstick Larry' - thumps a banjar - mention me 'sorefingers'.

This is one of those festivals that I wish I could attend sometime. I ran into a couple of guys who've been applying to be a part of the volunteer staff for years. They work during the festival just for a chance to be there and be a part of it. That testimonial has always made an impression on me. Their brief descriptions of the event made me wish that I lived closer so I could attend. I bumped into these two right here in my area of the country while we were both parking our cars at another event, a local street fair. Oddly, they had traveled by car all the way up from Texas, which is just about as far from Texas as you can drive in the lower 48, just to take in this street fair in my neck o' th' woods.
