We're gearing up for the 2004 edition of the Champlain Valley Folk Festival and Kingsland Bay State Park in Ferrisburgh, VT from Friday July 30 through Sunday August 1.

Join us, and such folk artists as Jez Lowe, April Verch, Pat Humphries & Sandy O, The Bills, Susie Burke & David Surrette, Sandy & Caroline Paton, Joe Hickerson and many more for one of the friendliest traditional festivals in New England.

The complete rundown and all the info you need is at our website.

One of the most out-of-the-way (and best) of the North East US Festivals. Wouldn't miss it.

As one Sandy Paton remarked at a past Champlain Festival--" If I were a folk festival, I can't think of a nicer place to live." Gorgeous scenery.

I'm contemplating going there (even though it's a VERY long schlep from Maryland), but need more data from people who might know answers in order to make up my mind and work out logistics.

What is meant by "Primitive camping will be available in a field within walking distance of Kingsland Bay State Park."? Are there other musical types there? A chance at jamming/singing? A quiet place to sleep when one finally peters out? Porta-potties? Is there access to flush plumbing once one gets back into Kingsland Bay State Park? Any Mudcatters with experience here?

Parking is in a field a mile or so from the venue. There are potties, and I found it quiet at night except for some idiot slamming his van doors for an hour or so late at night.

I'm a motel kind of person and don't camp, but when the CVFF was at the UVM campus, there was lots of jamming and singing into the wee hours.

This year will by my first time going to CVFF since 2001, before they moved back to Kingsland Bay. The line-up doesn't seem nearly quite as strong as I remember it being then, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Jez Lowe and The Bills.

Was at the CVFF last 2 years and enjoyed it immensely. Will be at Sidmouth this year. Sorry to miss Champlain. Have a great festival.

All the best,
Dan Milner
