23 + hours to go.
I've got new strings, Linda has written new songs and we've got heated accommodation overnight (many thanks M & T for hospitality)
Looking forward to our trip over the Humber and hearing everyone. WWW and their polite and serious songs might just be followed by more serious and polite songs!
See you soon, H.

Wonderful night again. Many thanks to all the performers and we had a very good turnout considering Children In Need was on the telly.
Thank you one and all. I can only hope Twangy will do his immaculate review of the evenings event.
The Twanglers opened the evening (which in my opinion is one of the hardest to do, as it sets the evening). They didn't let anybody down. Nice set.

Now I will leave Twangy to finish it off.

Thanks to all those who donated to Children In Need. Will let you know how much it is when I check it in the morning.

Cheers
Les

Home safe after a wonderful evening. Many thanks to Malc and Theresa for accommodating us 'cos it would have been freeeeeeezing in the van. Linda and I really enjoyed ourselves and will be using the 'light sticks' in the future.
Great songs and tunes from everyone, thanks. There are some great wordsmiths out there, many thoughtful songs.
Well done Les, fundraising and preparing another MRFC success.
Sammys Bar was just for you. Keep safe
Hazel.

The light sticks were a great idea! We had a great night and throughly enjoyed all the music, thanks everyone. I never feel like going home at the end of the night and always feel like there should be an 'after gig' chill out party with chance to talk to everyone more!
Another lovely evening. Thank you to all!

Glad you both got home safe Hazel.

Those light sticks were a great idea.

>>There are some great wordsmiths out there, many thoughtful songs.<< You can say that again.

You do a lovely version of Sammys Bar, so thanks for that.

I hope Linda is OK with her chest problem.

Cheers
Les

I reckon HissyFit introduced the lights sticks, after they saw all the additional resources that Wild Wolds Woman used, in order to upstage you Rockhen :-).

Fascinating watching Gwenda Cater acting like a football supporter waiving one of wild wold womens bed socks in the air. :-)

Do you think those light sticks give out enough heat to save putting on the heaters and the lighting :-)

No! Keep that heating on!
People will start wearing the bedsocks and we won't be able to get them back! Plus, I don't want to have to wash the socks every time, yeuuuuck! The light sticks WERE effective though weren't they?
Hmmmmmmm has given me an idea...

Raymond Froggatt's supporters wave things (scarves) in the air. Don't you dare liken me to a football supporter. I don't "DO" sport. One look should tell you that. We,too, had a great evening . It was wonderful not to have to wrestle with the PA. We had time to relax after work. It usually takes half an hour to load the gear, then we have to set off at 5.45 to unload and put up before the artists arrive. We had time to chill out as we set off well over an hour later than usual and we actually had time for a cup of tea between work and work. Great----Yippee!!!!!. We got to bed an hour earlier than we usually do too. Terry has told me to stop this message 'cos he doesn't want you to sack him. It will be great if you ever manage to get a PA for the village hall. It would be a lot easier on we two poor OLD souls.

I can't beleive that Terry would rebel against anything you say Gwed. :-)

Ask Terry if he would like to be PA specialist for Bob Fox next Saturday?

Raymond Froggatt is a Birmingham City Supporter, and 2 think I bought an 8 track of him. That is not loyal to Aston Villa. :-)

Yes Terry said, "Car willing he'll be PA specialist next Saturday". It's not such hard work on a Saturday as we have not been at work.
My own fault I know 'cos I retired once. You have to feel sorry for someone who can't cope with late nights (ME).

Wow!
Tries again!
Told V why review late when he stops laughing he might let the rest know.
So we were on first and the audience and the mc were very kind and we enjoyed ourselves.(great idea for post spot recreation Wooky)

The Caters were superb as always they pick and perform some great materiel and make it look oh so easy.
One day I will be relaxed and have a rapport with the audience but never like they do.
Thanks for not fiddling with me knobs this time mate!

Andrew Tiffany is always so good.
I went and sat with my mates from the band Vintage so we could bitch about his playing (HAH!) You can't fault the man and he sings very well too.
If he wasn't such a nice guy I would hate him(lol)
He Plays every thing from Beautiful ballads to Blues and Ragtime and so effortlessly is great to see and hear.

WWW Well what is to be said about these nutters?
Apart from: -
Seriously good musicians, great harmony's, beautiful arrangements, original songs and tunes (mostly) great sense of fun and all lovely supportive people.
I have actually been a WWW for a day and it was great to see how hard they work at getting their music right and having fun at the same time.
Ok I promise not to brag about that any more but great set Ladies.

The Spotlight guests were Hissy Fit.
Now I know I am gonna get in trouble from those who know the correct name for what these lovely ladies do.
They sing.
Accompanied only by the sound of each other's voices and the silence of a rapt audience.
Some of the most moving and sometimes, gritty songs of the seafarer.
Odd times a guitar makes an appearance but that too is just background for more gorgeous vocals.
They are an absolute treat to hear and they write some lovely songs too.
One of them based on the very personal story of tragedy at sea avoided for one young man by the arrival of a tax bill, and the subsequent loss of his shipmates.
One of the talented duo was performing with a serious sounding chest infection but they didn't let that sop them giving us a set that was both moving and informative.
They also got the Faldingworth audience to sing along wave glow sticks in the air and generally behave not at all like staid and dyed in the wool folkies are supposed to.
The audience were as always superb and I think I can speak for all the performers that it was a pleasure to be asked to play for the MRFC .
Ps Innit nice to have sandwiches and hot tea available?
Blessed are the sandwich makers and the washer up's(washers up?) shall inherit the earth!
(Hey if you want correct spelling and grammar, get a teacher to do the review lol)
Cheers all
Tim

Tim
Thank you for that. As always you have the finger on the pulse and do some exellent reviews (from the heart). very much appreciated.

Hissyfit - A capella harmony would probably best describe what they do.

>>Ps Innit nice to have sandwiches and hot tea available?
<<

Couldn't agree more. That mug of tea in the interval goes doown a treat, and I am sure very acceptable from all the drivers who can't get stuck into the alcohol :-)

Cheers
Les

tim thanks for the great review-you write some seriously good songs and I wish we could have had more time to talk-maybe another time. It is a real pleasure to be at MRFC-folks you can talk to, who are appreciative and some of whom make a fine sausage sandwich-damn fine! Unfortnately the chest infection seems to be gettng worse not better and I think a trip to the docs is in order! Thanks Les for the invite once again and hope Bob Fox is packed out-he does the best version of 'when the boat comes in' it really is superb.

Thank you Linda you are very kind saying nice things about my songs.
I am afraid I never know how to take acompliment like that and am now blushing.
I always enjoy MRFC because they get great performers,it costs £3 and the variety is fantastic.
There is the added bonus to a new starter like me that I can actualy get advice about playing singing and writing from people who can really do it themselves, and it is a thrill to get a lovely comment from someone like yourself.
Thank you very much and keep those modern classics that you do coming.
