Subject: RE: BS: baby needs lullabyes From: GUEST,ClaireBear Date: 06 Nov 03 - 01:26 PM Here's one I wrote for my own wee one. I sing it every night, calling the quarters to protect him. It's a version of All Through the Night: Martin's Welsh Lullaby Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee All through the night. I call guardians to defend thee All through the night. From the east, the wind and weather, South the sun, and west the water, From the north, the earth our mother All through the night. Drift, my child, on clouds of slumber All through the night, Azure, crimson, jade, and umber All through the night. Guarded by the owl unsleeping, Cat a-prowling, frog a-leaping, And the bear who watch is keeping All through the night. Dream, my child, no fear nor sadness All through the night. Only love and warmth and gladness All through the night. Softly breathing, gently sighing, Nothing wanting, no more crying, In thy peaceful bed a-lying All through the night. I just sang it for the little one. Who's next? Claire PS BW -- Knowing a name would help; it makes it easier to send the blessing. |

Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: black walnut Date: 07 Nov 03 - 03:12 PM Canadian, M.G., but I'm sure he wouldn't mind a bit. Little babies with big heart problems tire very easily. Now Matthew is incredibly tired, as anyone is after surgery, all wired up in intensive care. I'm not allowed in to IC, so I sing this from home: Bed is too small for my tiredness Give me a hilltop with trees Tuck a cloud up under my chin Lord, blow the moon out please Rock me to sleep in a cradle of dreams Sing me a lullaby of leaves Tuck a cloud up under my chin Lord, blow the moon out please ~b.w. |
Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: mg Date: 07 Nov 03 - 03:28 PM reminds me of a John O'Connor lullaby..he is probably most known for his labor type songs..but I bet this is one that most people know..or parts of anyway.. Here's a little good night Here's a little sleep tight Here's a little pleasant dreams too Don't you be forlorn I'll see you in the morn Here's a little good night for you I had a little fence and it cost me ten cents I put it...so my dreams could come true You don't need a ??? or a tweedle die die Just a little good night will do ...the cows will go moo.. mg |
Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: Megan L Date: 07 Nov 03 - 03:46 PM I lost my nephew Matthew last year aged 40 so as I sang lullabies I asked that this new Matthew be given all the years we missed and that he grows to as wonderful a young man and as much of a blessing as his namesake. |
Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: open mike Date: 07 Nov 03 - 04:01 PM i remember the girl scouts would sing this one: Bed is too small for my tiredness it brings memories of lungs full of fresh air! my wish for your little matthew is that his lungs heart and every thing will be strong and healthy! I can just see him running on a hill side in the sunshine and fresh air....here's hoping!! |
Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 07 Nov 03 - 04:03 PM I refer you to THIS POST, containing my own funny variation on "Rock-a-bye baby", and a complete original called Lullaby for a Breast-Fed Baby". Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: Alba Date: 07 Nov 03 - 09:12 PM Glad to hear that Matthew is out and on the road to recovery BW I wish you all Blessings and Healing Energy and Ill sing the wee Lamb a Fairy's Lullaby to night. Dear babe 'tis a cradle of love that holds thee, Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, And softly the snowy white fleece enfolds thee, Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, In airy bowers I'll watch o'er thy sleep. While branchy trees to the breezes sweep; In airy bowers I'll watch o'er thy sleep. Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, Rest thee babe for soon thee will wake from slumber, Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, They shall fly as the fairy hosts sing you their numbers, Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, In airy bowers I'll watch o'er thy sleep. While branchy trees to the breezes sweep; In airy bowers I'll watch o'er thy sleep. Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, In chariots of gold o'er the ocean we'll wander, Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, With the hosts of the deep all the night we will squander Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, In airy bowers I'll watch o'er thy sleep. While branchy trees to the breezes sweep: In airy bowers I'll watch o'er thy sleep. Shuh-heen-sheh, shuh-heen-sheh a-lo, Rest well and sleep easy wee Bairn JD |

Maybe it sounds silly to say, but I do think that if everyone sang more lullabies, we'd all breathe deeper and planet would resonate at a better frequency. ~b.w. |

Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: katlaughing Date: 08 Nov 03 - 07:08 PM At 813p, Mudcat time, there are six stars which will line up, along with a full lunar eclipse. People all over the world will be intoning the great OM at that moment. There will be lots of healing energies projected which will have an effect on the world's resonance. May it be helpful for Matthew and all others in need of healing, of any sort. In Peace & Harmonic Convergance:-) kat |
Subject: RE: baby needs lullabyes From: black walnut Date: 09 Nov 03 - 09:23 AM Wasn't that a great eclipse? I love it when the moon turns red like that. And at a decent time of night to watch it, too! Several of us delayed a concert from starting on time - even the sound people were out there looking at the moon. I was laughing when I thought you meant to say "L"'s, Kat. Now you've gone and spoiled it! :-) Day Four: Still sleeping. Still covered in wires and tubes and beeps and gizmos. No complications. ~b.w. |
