Subject: RE: Obit: Patricia Tracey, clog dancer (Feb 2008) From: GUEST,Jim Martin Date: 13 May 08 - 06:47 AM Thanks for the obit Derek, you do a great job. She was a lovely lady, I only saw her once, before I really knew much about any kind of folk dancing (still don't) but I was very impressed all the same! |

Subject: RE: Obit: Patricia Tracey, clog dancer (Feb 2008) From: Newport Boy Date: 13 May 08 - 08:42 AM Thanks, Derek. My phrasing was intended to imply that the Guardian was late, rather than the writer. I think 3 months is getting on for a record. Phil |

Subject: RE: Obit: Patricia Tracey, clog dancer (Feb 2008) From: GUEST Date: 14 May 08 - 04:04 PM It was such a pleasure to bring Pat to Chippenham Folk Festival when I was organising displays and workshops there. She was such a lovely person who delighted in sharing her knowledge and dancing skills and passing them on to anybody who wanted to learn. I've been involved with dance all my life - of many different genres - classical & modern ballet, tap, international and many different kinds of folk dance. Pat stands out in my memory as a true Master of her art with a wonderfully modest nature. To put it colloquially, she may have 'popped her clogs', but she'll always be remembered dancing in them! Subject: RE: Obit: Patricia Tracey, clog dancer (Feb 2008) From: Mo the caller Date: 15 May 08 - 09:29 AM I have put that link onto another forum as an attempt to share our folk heritage. But I wonder how long it will stay working. Are there any permanent links to Pat, or other clog icons like Sam Sherry? |
