Long shot here!

I meet for music with several people where we feature guitar, banjo and dobro. And mandolin. So, do you have favo(u)rite tunes and songs where the mando is prominent?

Not necessarily specific to the mandolin but some of my favorites to play on it:

Lark in the Morning
The Bonawae Highlanders
Carolan's Favorite/ Leslie's March
The Banshee/ Spootiskerry
Robertson's Reel/ A Boy's Lament for his Dragon
Montreal Reel
La Grand Chaine/ Old French Reel
La Bastringue/Pays da Haut
A Maiden's Prayer
Stay all Night
Chinquapin Hunting
A Daisy for Gilda/ Murray River
Whiskey 'fore Breakfast/ St. Anne's Reel
Castle Kelly/ Within a Mile of Dublin
Bluegrass Stomp
Crested Hens/ Far Away
Tommy Coen's / Reel of Rio
Barney Pilgrim/ Banish Misfortune
Liza Jane
Hamnataing/ Willaford
Salmon Tails Over the Water
The Carraroe/ Out on the Ocean
Cock o' the North/ Muckin' o' Geordie' Byre

My finger's getting tired. You can get the dots for most these at thesession.org.

I just found one mandolin tune on YouTube that I already know: Mandolin Chimes by Bill Yohey. I knew Bill years ago in my hometown in Oregon; I believe he died a number of years ago.

This is not a good recording -it's better in person- but it's a good tune. If I remember correctly he wrote it himself.

And let us not forget Mozart and
"Deh! vieni alla finestra,"
a pleasant mandolin serenade that became an aria in the opera
Don Giovanni.
The orchesstra actually includes a mandolin in the score.

If you like a bit of Baroque, there’s a book available from Amazon and other sites called “Baroque Music for Mandolin”: 25 tunes in it, and 10 recordings.
There’s also another book of Bach tunes.

It’s not clear what sort of music you want to play. If you want to play popular songs, then you are more limited to the likes of Galway Girl, Maggie Mae, Mandolin Wind, etc, but if you want to get away from essentially chord based stuff and play tunes, then there are dozens of good tune books, largely derived from traditional fiddle tunes, but readily playable on mandolin (same tuning even). At one time you had to be able to read the dots of course, but these days many have tablature (fret fingering) shown.
