Last time I saw him was about 3 years ago working the Irish pub scene with Tom Napper. I saw him in Hull but I think he was based in Leeds.

Incidentally, Rob was another member of Silver Birch (see Keith Brown thread) and he may also have worked with Keith for a short period. Captain Swing

If you mean Robin Van Zant, he's alive & well and living in Knaresborough, working as a duo with a lady called Rachel Goodwin. Well worth checking the Knaresborough press for their appearances, be happy, Roger

I could be wrong (usually am!) but if it's the same guy I'm thinking of - from Holland, used to play a lot in NE England, I think it's spelt Rob Van Sante (pronounced Santy). Dunno where he is now but if this is the right spelling it may help.

Used to have great fun announcing Rob's auntys van at our club and festival. Made Rob chuckle as well....;-)

Thats the guy. He came over from Holland and played along with Silver Birch for quite a while. I would like to see him again (my wife remembers him singing "Sally Wheatley") I often wonder what happened to the old Grimsby crowd

See the Keith Brown thread for some of it, Vista.
